Description: While spending the night in a fifth wheel trailer, my boyfriend and I heard something that sounded a lot like the wind. But something wasn't quite right about it. Looking out the window, the trees were not swaying and the snowfall was very calm and still. By instinct, one would imagine the sound being caused by a very low flying plane, but as the sound continued that seemed less likely.
The noise was loud and sudden, coming out of no where in the silent night. It stayed noticeably loud and in the vicinity for a minute at the maximum, but then quickly drifted away - however, although it drifted away, the noise could still be heard. Interestingly enough, around five minutes (give or take) after the sound "drifted" into the distance, it came back as quickly as it left. Suddenly sounded loud and very nearby again.
I got out of bed and swiftly opened the door of the trailer, scanning the North-bound section of the sky for anything obvious*, but there was nothing and the forest and snowfall continued to be calm and still. Before we were able to go outside and scan the South-bound section of the sky, the sound disappeared (not entirely, it was very distant), but it did not return.
The following video sounds quite similar to the noise that we heard:
*Obvious - looking for a low flying plane, military aircraft, other objects in the sky and any lights.
