Massachusetts MUFON, a state chapter of the Mutual UFO Network, was founded as a multidisciplinary, grassroots organization dedicated to the serious scientific study and analysis of the UFO mystery. As one of the oldest state chapters, Massachusetts MUFON has more than 120 members - field investigators, consultants and research specialists. Among other activities, Mass. MUFON maintains a UFO reporting hotline, trains field investigators, hosts bi-monthly meetings, and sponsors scientific research into the UFO phenomenon.
Massachusetts MUFON is a dynamic investigative organization that closely studies statewide local UFO sightings. Many investigations start with a simple phone call but may eventually require considerable investigation and follow-up to their conclusion. The majority of sightings, greater than 90%, are misinterpretations of normal, naturally occuring phenomena, man-made objects, or astronomical events, but there are always a small percentage that are not so easily explained...
