OZ File Sighting Report
Report taken from the AUFORN Mailing List

1800 Callin Code: UFOR NSW web page
Time Reported: 7:10pm
Location: Beverly Hill NSW
Report given to nearest rep: UFO Society
I have spoken to the witness, however there is little more I can add to his detailed report:
I go out into the back yard each evening after dinner to see if there is any activity in the sky but I have never seen anything before like what I saw last night. At approximately 7:10pm (26/3/01) I observed a group of about 20-30 crafts travelling at high speed from south to north/west overhead but slightly south/west of my position. They were travelling in oval formation. It took them about 15 seconds to move across before they fade out due to the city lights at about half way between the 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions (I first spotted them at about the 11 o'clock position). They were well above the atmosphere and quite a distance because of their small size and dim light. They were as bright as dim distant stars. If you weren't looking right at them you would probably miss them. I'm sure not many people would have seen them.
As they moved, one of them rapidly crossed over from one side of the group to the other and continued in a slightly different direction.
In addition to this report, I did receive a call through the society about a similar sighting above Sydney Harbour:
On the 30th March 2001, at the approximate time of 9:00pm, a couple from Prestons NSW and six other independent witnesses on a cruise boat in Sydney harbor sighted an unusual event in the night sky. They witnessed five star-like objects appear individually in a circular formation, northeast to their position (or towards Glebe). The five objects then began to circle around or as quoted by the husband "playing cat and mouse with each other". The objects then seemed to coalesce. The group then witnessed the single object separate into three. All three individual objects accelerated in different directions (exact directions unknown). Shortly after, what seemed to be the primary object then multiplied into a further two and disappeared in the same fashion.
The entire event was observed for approximately 1 minute. The night was clear. Strangely, no other air traffic was noticed during the experience.
