Toronto, Ontario Bean Or Peanut Shaped Object

Date: June 25, 2005
Time: 10:45 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Bean or peanut shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: My fiend and I were lying on our backs on a table and looking at the stars while chatting. The sky was clear and we could see many stars, even in the city, and my friend was commenting on how the stars sometimes looked like they were moving! This was the strangest moment for her to say this for as we looked over to our right there, out of nowhere, was a streak of light which went straight over the city line and seemed to vanish into thin air. The way it vanished was quite odd as it was almost as if there was an invisible slit in the sky in which is went through and we could no longer see it.

We didn't know if it had come from nowhere or whether or not it had been coming from somewhere and we only caught the last few seconds of it. The thing was very fast but the sighting lasted at least 6 seconds as I had time to yell out to my friend to make sure she was seeing the same thing I was ("Holly crap, (friends name removed, are you seeing this? Can you see that?" She then had time to quickly reply to me ("Yep, I see it.") as our heads followed it North, and we found ourselves sitting up. There was then about 1 second where we both just watched it, in silence, sort of burn out or vanish into the atmosphere.

The object was white and looked somewhat like a spark in the shape of a bean or peanut. There was a trail behind the object that lingered for only a short distance and faded away very quickly. It reminded me of a chalk line on a chalk board as it was so white against the night sky and it was so smooth and soft as it raced through the sky. The trail was somewhat white and smokey, clearly seen and only lasted for a few yards behind it. I would say it may have been the size of a small car. There was no sound.

The flight pattern was an extremely straight line and came from the South (Lower Jarvis street) carried on into the North (approx. Dundas street). It was on the East side of the CN Tower and was approx. 1200-1700 feet above the ground.

Weather: There was a breeze coming from the West. Clouds were visible, there was one cloud coming from behind the CN Tower (East). The moon was nowhere in sight and the starts were clearly visible.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
