A bright light in the sky has created a mystery.
Many Vernon area residents spotted an object crossing the southern sky early Monday night.
"I saw a bright light with no trail behind it," said Catherine Wraight, who took pictures of the object.
She also shot pictures of an airplane in the sky at the same time, and compared the two images on her computer.
"There's no way it was a jet," she said of the mysterious object.
Wraight is unwilling to speculate on whether it was a meteor or something else.
"I have no clue what it is," she said.
There's a few possibilities, according to the Vernon Astronomy Club.
Wayne Willet, with the club, said the options include a meteor, and possibly Saturn, although he believes that is unlikely.
"Saturn is not that bright and it takes all night to cross the sky."
He doubts it was the international space station because the station's Monday flight patterns don't coincide with the Okanagan.
